He has a background in event management, full service hotels and luxury resorts. Prior to his seven year stint with Hilton Hotels, he managed the events and incentives division of Sun City Resort in South Africa, executing major events across the resort’s four luxury hotels and the Lost City Convention Centre. Venter has a diploma in Hotel Management and is a Certified Hotel Administrator(CHA) through the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.
Righton joins the LHEC as business development manager and offers more than 25 years of hospitality experience. She started her career as a site manager for Fisher Catering Services, working at locations such as Parliament and Telecom in Wellington. More recently Righton was the sales account manager at Te Papa and conference and event business development officer at Venues Wellington. Righton is on board to help deliver high-quality venue solutions and hospitality to local, national and international clients alike.
Gert and Hayley join Shelley Bascand, sales manager for both LHEC and Double Tree by Hilton in Wellington's CBD.
