Rashid has previously been the hotel manager at Stamford Plaza Auckland for nearly three years until 2019. He brings in a wealth of knowledge and expertise to drive the hotel team to a successful recovery. “Looking forward to the next few months, we the team at Stamford are committed to delivering on our brand values of �Being Exceptional in every sense̕ and look forward to being the place for meetings and events and attracting back both international, trans Tasman leisure and corporate markets back to the city of sails. “The quarter ahead is looking positive with all Covid-19 related restrictions been removed by the NZ Government which is a positive and encouraging sign for the travel and tourism sector and will boost confidence,” says Rashid. To support Rashid is the newly appointed executive assistant manager, Sumeet Shetty. Shetty has been with Stamford Plaza Auckland for over four years in the food and beverage department starting as F&B manager, then F&B director, and now the EAM for the hotel. Shetty is a passionate hotelier who brings over 11 years of NZ hospitality experience including seven years with Accor. Driving the sales and marketing team is Vikas Yadav as the director of sales and marketing. Yadav started his journey with Stamford in January 2022 bringing with him over 10 years of hospitality sales and marketing experience. He has worked extensively in the NZ hotel industry with several independent and chain hotel brands including Accor (franchised), IHG (franchised), and Hilton (franchised and managed). Having done a few successful pre-openings including DoubleTree by Hilton Wellington and Lower Hutt Events Centre. Yadav is looking forward to a successful reopening and recovery of the hotel. Supporting Yadav is Jabez Lobo as the associate director of sales. Lobo has worked in the New Zealand hospitality sector for close to 17 years and started his career working in hotels with the Stamford Plaza Auckland back in 2003. He has returned to the Auckland CBD after working for almost five years at Jet Park BEING EXCEPTIONAL IN EVERY SENSE AT STAMFORD PLAZA AUCKLAND Jabez Lobo, Inshan Thapa, Vikas Yadav, Saif Ian Rashid, Sumeet Shetty, Julie Back, Meherzad Marfatia Stamford Plaza Auckland re-opened its doors to the public in June 2022, after being under Managed Isolation Facility (MIF) operations for nearly two years.
