Over her five years in charge Sullivan has overseen training programmes and communicated the importance of education through the mentorship and emerging talent projects and highlighted the importance of sustainability in the industry. Running a membership-based organisation is a tough job and the fact is you will never please everyone, so her straight up and dedicated approach should be applauded. The process to find a new chief executive has begun and exciting challenges are ahead. You can say this about the business events sector - it’s not short of ideas; the key is to implement these ideas. With successful international bids recently announced the industry has never been in better shape and there is no reason we should not look forward to a bright 2020 and beyond. And lastly good luck to the mighty All Blacks and a tilt at a three-peat championship!
