Meeting Newz Nov/Dec 2023

“I think that’s generally a trend in the industry that we will see continue,’ says Botherway. “At Exhibition Hire Services we have always worked to provide personal and flexible service and having a variety of options at expos is more important than ever now.” Botherway says 2023 has seen a return to pre-Covid levels of business with highlights that have included the Barfoot and Thompson's 100th anniversary awards night, the successful Synthony event and the return of key ‘stalwarts’ like the gift fairs, Fieldays and home shows. He says the opening of new convention centres has been a highlight over the past 12 to 18 months and as expected it has given the industry a major post-pandemic boost. “Since the opening of Tākina Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre, we’ve appointed Tatiyana Isaac as a new events coordinator in Wellington. We’re excited to have her on board, grow the team and the services and equipment we offer there. The new venue has added a new dimension to business in the capital. THE END OF A B I G YEAR – AND R EADY FOR 2024 “The same thing happened when Te Pae opened in Christchurch and this has been a real catalyst for us to extend our product and service offerings not only in Christchurch but the whole of the South Island.” Botherway adds that the Coast Group team members are ready to work on any projects presented to them. “It all starts again next year and we know we’ll be utilising our whole group to capacity.” Devon Barnett, Annie Lister, Holly Eason, Coast Group Business Events Expo Floor set up [50] meeting newz [november december] 2023
