Graham says at a high level, the bureau wants to bring buyers into New Zealand, then into the Waikato, and then into the right venue with the right suppliers for that particular event. ‘The bureau works for our partners, but we also work with the buyers to make sure that they are matched with the best suppliers to fit their objectives, budget and delegate demographic,’ she explains. Working together as a region is vital for success, according to Amanda Graham, business events manager Hamilton & Waikato Tourism, who says putting the region first will ensure the best possible experience for delegates. ‘The Convention Bureau works with operators to encourage working together as a region.
