The group flew with Air New Zealand, which along with Singapore Airlines, offers three daily services between Auckland and Singapore, as well as seasonal services from Christchurch under a joint alliance.
The group of eight, from Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch were lucky enough to stay at both the Grand Hyatt Singapore and Andaz Singapore, taking in the surrounding neighbourhoods of Chinatown, the Arabic quarter Kampong Glam and Peranakan district of Joo Chiat.
They kept busy with iconic local experiences including Gardens by the Bay, a bumboat ride along the Singapore River, taking in the sights from the Singapore Cable Car and whizzing down the Skyline Luge Sentosa. In addition, the group were given an insight into Singapore’s ‘Passion Made Possible’ brand - a celebration of the spirit and attitude of the locals whose tenacity and innovation creates new experiences and possibilities - with a visit to local designer showcase, Design Orchard. To top it all off, they enjoyed a tipple on the Brass Lion Gin Distillery Tour.
With eating often described by locals as a national pastime, the group also experienced a variety of dining offerings with visits to Timbre+, Peony Jade at Clarke Quay, Coastes Glass House and Alkaff Mansion.
Before their departure, the group was able to check out the newly opened Jewel Changi Airport, which extends the already impressive offering of Changi Airport (awarded ‘World’s Best Airport’ by Skytrax for seven consecutive years in 2019) taking in the event spaces and dining at renowned Peranakan restaurant, Violet Oon.
