New gm for Edgewater

Catherine Bone has been appointed as the new general manager and will start on 21 May 2019. Bone has been a senior lecturer and stream leader at the Pacific International Hotel Management School in New Plymouth.  She has completed an MBA degree from the University of Cumbria in 2016, majoring in Leadership and Sustainability. 

She has worked in prestigious hotels and resorts in the UK, Australia and New Zealand including Hand Picked Hotels and Macdonald Resorts and Hotels (UK), and, Spicers Retreats - Hidden Vale and Peppers Craigieburn – (Australia).

In New Zealand Catherine has held management positions at Marlborough Vintners Hotel and Accor’s Puka Park Resort. The chairman of the board, David Robinson, noted the selection panel was impressed with Catherine’s extensive management experiences.  'Catherine has a wealth of experiences and skills gained as a general manager in not only New Zealand, but also Australia and the UK.  She brings learnings from her recent MBA and hospitality lecturing roles'. says Robinson.
