New workshops focus on frontline service

Tourism Marketing Solutions (TMS) is rolling out a new series of workshops to include specialised conference and incentive, frontline customer service and executive level training.


The group recently delivered a new frontline customer service initiative for the team at GCH Aviation based in Christchurch with resounding success.

Caroline Blanchfield, group marketing manager at GCH Aviation, says it’s important that a company continues to invest in its people so they keep delivering to their highest standard.

GCH Aviation began in the 1980s as a scenic flight business operating from New Brighton beach in Christchurch.

The company owns and operates an helicopter air rescue service for the Canterbury and West Coast regions and owns the NZ Flying Doctors service. 

GCH Aviation has seen rapid growth in the past five years. The company now has helicopter bases in Christchurch, Nelson, Wellington, Greymouth and now owns Pacific Island Air and Vanuatu Helicopters. 

GCH Aviation has also developed a UAV section for aerial filming and will continue to add to the business of tourism aviation.

From this base the company has continued to expand and now has a firm focus on increasing its influence in the premium market of the tourism sector.

Blanchfield says the company wants to ensure that it delivers the best possible service for all guests using its services. 

‘From the private jet centre to the helicopter experiences it is important that front facing staff are fully trained to meet the needs of our clients.’
