The property has also now added a sauna, gym, and a health spa area.
'This is our biggest development in more than 30 years, and we’re delighted to share the new facilities and rooms with guests,' says managing director Reg Nevill-Jackson.
'Heritage Collection Waitakere Estate is by far the largest accommodation provider in the Waitakere Ranges Heritage Area and we are so pleased that this means that more Aucklanders and visitors from other places can now enjoy staying here in our very special environment.'
Heritage Collection Waitakere Estate offers a rainforest retreat experience for both day visitors and those seeking a longer stay in a natural setting like no other.
'We have an extremely secluded position surrounded by the native rainforest,' says Nevill-Jackson. 'This makes our visitor experience really very special.
'Heritage Collection Waitakere Estate is one of only two areas in the heritage park where people can see 1,500-year-old native trees. It’s a very unique setting and it’s incredibly special that people can come and experience this environment and only be 30 kilometres away from Auckland city and near the famous West Coast beaches of Piha and Karekare.'
Nevill-Jackson’s father developed the property in the 1950s and it has been family-owned since that time. Nevill-Jackson and his brother continue to work in the business.
'Heritage Collection Waitakere Estate has always been a labour of love for our family, and our new development expresses our ongoing love for the natural environment we are fortunate enough to live in.
'Our new development has provided the perfect opportunity for us to respond to the needs of our guests and visitors and create new, beautifully-appointed spaces for them to do business, celebrate special occasions, rest and relax.'
