Queenstown wins most influential destination

Queenstown has been named the ‘most influential destination’ in the 2018 Goldfinger Awards in China.


The awards have been held in China for 10 years, and the event attracts around 800 attendees and covers the likes of PCOs, destinations, travel agencies and hotels.

Queenstown was the host destination of the 2018 Amway China’s Leadership Seminar incentive programme, which involved 6,300 delegates in 11 waves across seven weeks.

The success of this event saw Amway China’s business owners rating the Queenstown programme one of the best ever, with a satisfaction rating of 96%. The event’s success has now put Queenstown and New Zealand on the map for hosting large incentive groups.

'We are delighted to win this award,' says Kiran Nambiar, Queenstown Convention Bureau director. 'This is a significant acknowledgement and recognises the work the Queenstown Convention Bureau and Queenstown operators have been doing in Asia to raise the profile of Queenstown as a world class incentive destination.'

The awards ceremony was held in Shanghai last night.
