Allyssa Eastaugh, Convene general manager, says putting on an event like Convene takes a real team effort.
‘The words collaborations used a lot in our industry but really that is what the premise of a Convene show is built on,’ she says. ‘We engage a truly talented set of event professionals to help us deliver the show, who choose to exhibit at the show and of course who chose to attend the show as a visitor.’
Convene 2017 is being held at the Vodafone Events Centre for the first time this year. Eastaugh says the new location will offer a new perspective for meeting and event planners attending the expo. Its location near the airport offers better access for buyers from South Auckland, Waikato, other parts of NZ and Australia.
Eastaugh says that while a real mix of business event planners from all industries and titles attend Convene, it’s a very targeted and qualified group that come along.
‘It’s about delivering a successful show through experiences of meeting people face-to-face and if that translates to a ROI then we have done our job of connecting the right people.’
