Making it Mildura |
Mildura turned on a great welcome for its inaugural participation in the AIME pre-touring programme. The city’s mayor, several councillors and suppliers joined famil delegates for a Murray River dinner cruise on the historic paddle wheeler Mundoo. Other memorable features were participation in the traditional ‘trampling of the grapes’, morning tea on a luxury houseboat, meeting renowned chef Stefano di Piery, and generous sampling of the produce - including the world’s top Shiraz – of Australia’s first irrigated settlement, the Sunraysia region. | | Boarding the Mundoo for a Murray River dinner cruise, from left: Beth Marshall, ING (NZ) Ltd; Jackie Snell, Virgin Blue, David McCarthy, Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau |
