As New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland’s success in the business events sector is key to the success of business events throughout the country, according to Sue Sullivan, chief executive of Conventions & Incentives New Zealand. Sullivan says Auckland is emerging as a knowledge capital of the Asia Pacific region, and the New Zealand International Conference Centre in the CBD is perfectly placed to leverage this. ‘The NZICC sits in the heart of Auckland’s innovation ecosystem – universities, business headquarters and innovation hubs. The inviting, accessible design brings the outside in and will give delegates a real sense they are part of Auckland life,’ she explains.
