Over the coming months, a number of
new initiatives will be announced based on
feedback from AIME 2012, says Sally de
Swart, Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) director
for AIME.
Showcasing destinations, venues and a
wide range of products and services from
all parts of Australia, the Asia-Pacific and
internationally, AIME 2012 welcomed close
to 800 exhibitors from 44 countries and
held close to 13,000 business appointments
over two days – 2013 is expected to be
even bigger.
Business travellers
With almost 50% of AIME hosted buyers
responsible for organising business travel, it
made sense that AIME would actively target
those in the business travel industry for the
show, according to de Swart. This builds
on last year’s business travel exhibitors,
which included a number of airlines, hotel
morning of AIME. Previously the timing of
the education programme coincided with pre
scheduled appointments (PSAs) making it
difficult for buyers to attend.
Early bird
The hosted buyer early bird option closes
on October 26, 2012. People registering before
this save 10% off the normal price. Benefits
include flights, accommodation, pre touring
itineraries in regional Victoria and access to
AIME’s hosted buyer lounge and networking
programme. To maximise the two day event,
hosted buyers receive personalised PSAs,
allowing them to meet with the exhibitors
they are interested in doing business with.
Over 800 exhibitors are expected to attend.
Bay Travel
Bay Travel will organise travel
arrangements for the AIME 2013 hosted
buyer programme. Bay Travel is one of the
largest privately owned travel management
agencies in Australia and will be responsible
for the fulfilment and coordination of travel
arrangements for AIME’s hosted buyers
attending next year’s event.
chains and corporate travel agencies.
Future Events Experience
AIME will continue to be at the forefront
of new developments within the industry,
with the introduction of the Future Events
Experience in 2013 – a dedicated section
on the show floor where the latest event
technologies and innovations will be
presented. The exhibit will also provide
a forum to discuss the latest trends and
challenges of the industry.
It is designed to demonstrate how future
conferences and meetings will be run.
Attendees will have hands-on experience
of emerging products and technologies and
access to experts.
