Corporates and government have been challenged by the chair of Earthcheck Research Institute to 'walk the talk' when it comes to backing the 100% Pure brand. Lincoln University's Professor David Simmons (pictured left) was speaking to media and guests late January at The Langham, Auckland's announcement of its Earthcheck Gold Status. Simmons congratulated the luxury hotel on its five year commitment to achieve a first for a business hotel in the Australasian and Pacific regions. 'If we are going to believe in the 100% Pure brand then the government has to back it up by walking the talk - stay and use those places that have demonstrated their willingness and commitment to sustainablity,' he says |
The Langham's managing director, Jeffrey van Vorsselen (below left, second from left) congratulated his staff who had backed the hotel's efforts which involved annual data submissions on sustainability followed by full audits.
